MIRAN.DA is a fusion-rock act from Wollongong. The underground movement she’s cultivating marks an intersection of politics, culture and the DIY aesthetic, shifting focus away from the Sydney scene, down to the growing creative hub that is Wollongong. She and her collaborators experiment with basement recordings, abstracted instruments and live to electronic production. Balancing skill and imperfection, her husky vocals have the grannies reaching for their tea and the granddads rocking. Inspired by the sounds of Amy Winehouse and Kali Uchis, while worshipping the audacity of artists like Kendrick Lamar to be political, she strives to share a philosophical take on life as a young person fighting for justice in a turbulent, unjust world.
