Jessica and Lisa Origliasso, twin sisters, were teenagers when they moved to LA, signed a record deal with the Grandfather of Punk Rock, Seymour Stein (Madonna, The Ramones) to Warner Bros/Sire Records. They released their first album, “THE SECRET LIFE OF” to critical acclaim with three top 10 singles, including their songs with Swedish hit maker Max Martin, 4EVER and EVERYTHING IM NOT. The Veronicas first number one followed with their second album “HOOK ME UP”, sky rocketing the girls into the USA market with a billboard top #20 hit of their now iconic song UNTOUCHED.
Touring with the likes of Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and The Jonas Brothers, The Veronicas quickly solidified their recognisable harmonies and dynamic performance in pop music forever. With countless international awards under their belt from MTV Australia, MTV Europe, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, ARIA, APRA, TMF, and Los Premios MTV, The Veronicas surprised their fans in 2014 by releasing a piano driven ballad, “YOU RUIN ME”. A brave departure from their pop/rock roots. YOU RUIN ME rewarded The Veronicas with their second #1 hit, and top #5 hit in the UK. Two years later, The Veronicas were back again in the number #1 position with their euphoric dance floor Anthem “IN MY BLOOD”.
The Veronicas spectacular 15 year career speaks for itself: solidified as Australian Icons, the first Australian artists ever to score a platinum record for downloads in the US (over 1 million records sold for 2007’s “UNTOUCHED”), twelve top 10 hits in Australia including three #1s; 500 million-plus streams and over 200 million youtube/VEVO views.
