AIMING TO CREATE A POSITIVE PARTY CULTURE

AIMING TO CREATE A POSITIVE PARTY CULTURE

At Yours & Owls, we’re all about having a good time. We aim to create a positive party culture, where everyone feels welcome.

  • We won’t tolerate antisocial or aggressive behaviour or discrimination of any kind.
  • Maybe not everything will be to your taste. But be kind and respectful to everyone, and simply move along if something isn’t your jam. Or stick it out and try something new, you might find you like it!
  • Be good to yourself and to those around you.
  • Have a good time, but not at the expense of anyone else.
  • If you or your friend is not feeling well, or something makes you feel uncomfortable, please approach Yours & Owls staff, security or First Aid right away for assistance… We are all here to help.
  • Be respectful of boundaries and personal space.
  • No means no!
  • Clean up after yourself, and place any waste, recycling, or food compost in the correct bins!
  • Keep up the H20.
  • Use the actual toilets!
  • Be mindful and respectful of our environment and neighbours when coming to and from the festival.

We reserve the right to refuse admission or to eject any attendee at our discretion if we feel someone’s behaviour is likely to cause damage, injury, nuisance, or annoyance, or if someone fails to comply with reasonable requests.

Yours & Owls is a homegrown product. Our team works, lives and plays in Wollongong! We are locals who care about our community and watching it grow. Here’s some of the things we do to support locals:

  • We book local bands on the RAD stage, and local creatives at the Metropolis Locale.
  • We employ hundreds of local workers and engage local suppliers.
  • We love to collaborate with local businesses. If you’re a local business of any kind and want to get involved please reach out to info@yoursandowls.com.au.

If you’d like to support locals too, we encourage you to head to the local shops, pubs, café’s, beaches, clubs, and art galleries. Wollongong is a playground – so get out and explore!

Yours and Owls Festival is committed to festival sustainability.

Our zero single-use plastic policy means we only offer reusable cups and water bottles. Our waste management procedures ensure we have a high recycling and landfill diversion rate.

Here are some of the ways you can help us minimise our environmental impact:

  • Bring your own (empty) water bottle. It can’t be made from glass and must be smaller than 800 ml in size. You can refill at one of our many free water stations.
  • Make the most of all the public transport options.
  • Don’t be a litterbug. Better still, put your waste in the RIGHT bin.  Signs will help you decide if your rubbish is recycling, organics or general waste.
  • Put your ciggie butts in provided disposal units too!
  • Say no to fast fashion, consider jazzing up some clothes you already own, taking to the op’ shops, or hiring some fresh threads from a festival outfit hiring service.

Yours & Owls extends beyond show days. We have a program of extra-curricular activities (some more educational than others) before and after the festival that you can sign up for! Keep on the lookout for extra-curricular events and programs as they get added closer to the festival.

WE WANT ALL OF OUR EVENTS TO BE INCLUSIVE, COMPASSIONATE & CONSIDERATE OF OUR ENTIRE COMMUNITY. WE
WELCOME EVERYONE REGARDLESS OF THEIR SEXUALITY, GENDER
IDENTITY, RACE OR RELIGION. BE MINDFUL OF OUR
NEIGHBOURS, ENTER & EXIT THE FESTIVAL RESPECTFULLY
