Ella de Graaf-Clark, otherwise known as Katella Kreative is a Wollongong-based multimedia artist who primarily works across illustration, painting and textiles. Born in Wollongong, the harmonic blend of coast and bush keeps her regularly inspired.
The principal themes that Ella explores within her work include the future, humanity, science and technology. Actively considering how these grand themes connect to one another through a tangle of complex discovery. The topics which Ella explores intrigue and terrify her all the same.
However, “Blink And You’ll Miss It” sparks the beginning of a new creative era. The wild beach rabbits along the coast, unironically being the sounding board of this new direction. This project is heavily Inspired by theatrics, nonsensical grandeur and a dream like mirage of the past. As Ella enters adulthood there seems to be a faint tether back to childlike whimsy, something that she wants to remind others to hold onto during the not so merry go round of life. Be greeted by an uncanny, symphony of colour and light that sets free new perspectives on the everyday routine.
