HILLTOP HOODS returned in 2022 with two brand new releases, setting them up for their first headline shows since 2019. The ‘SHOW BUSINESS’ tour saw the group perform nationally to sold-out arenas across six dates in all major cities. ‘Show Business’ feat. Eamon and ‘A Whole Day’s Night’ feat. Montaigne & Tom Thum are both offerings ahead of a forthcoming album that will follow the group’s hugely successful and sixth #1 album ‘The Great Expanse’ (Platinum). The highest selling Australian Album of 2019, it produced hits Clark Griswold feat. Adrian Eagle (2x Platinum), Leave Me Lonely (4x Platinum) and Exit Sign Feat Illy & Ecca Vandal (4x Platinum).
Bursting straight out of the gate in 2023, HILLTOP HOODS made Triple J’s Hottest 100 history with the title of the most song entries within the countdown to date. Charting both new releases on this coveted list, the group’s Hottest 100 tally now totals 23 songs, taking the crown from previous record-holders Powderfinger and Foo Fighters.
With a third single out soon and no plans on slowing down, HILLTOP HOODS have also announced headline shows for this coming Summer in the UK and Europe. Commencing in June at London’s Roundhouse, the band will also make festival appearances at the much-loved ‘Summer Jam’ in Cologne, as well as the esteemed ‘Open Air Frauenfeld’ in Switzerland, Europe’s largest hip hop festival.
This is the band’s first overseas tour since the ‘THE GREAT EXPANSE WORLD TOUR’, which saw them playing sold-out Arenas to over 100,000 fans in 14 different countries. This was HILLTOP HOODS biggest and most successful headline tour to date, where they also created history with the largest tour of any Australian act in 2019.
The legacy of HILLTOP HOODS is undeniable. Their unparalleled career speaks for itself with Ten ARIA awards; six #1 Albums; #1 most streamed artist on Spotify 2 years running; sold-out arena tours and over 60 x Platinum accreditations and counting.
