Introducing ARCHIE, a Canberra-based band that is making waves with their infectious melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and energetic performances. After meeting when studying at ANU School of Music, ARCHIE have now been performing in the Canberra music community for over three years. The band consists of four members, Olivia Falatoese (Bass), Alexander Wanjura (Drums), Geromy Houghton (Lead Guitar/Synths) and Grant Simpson (Vocals/Rhythm Guitar). ARCHIE’s journey began in the suburbs of Canberra, where they honed their craft and developed a sound uniquely their own. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of genres, including indie rock, alternative pop, and folk, the band weaves together captivating melodies and introspective storytelling to create an immersive musical experience. With their undeniable chemistry and dynamic stage presence, ARCHIE has earned a reputation for their electrifying live performances and were nominated for Best Live Act at the Music ACT Awards. The band’s infectious energy and genuine connection with the audience leave a lasting impression, transforming every show into a memorable experience.
ARCHIE’s hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. Since our debut in late 2019, we’ve had the privilege of supporting international megastar BENEE, renowned national acts, such as Lime Cordiale and Ballpark Music, as well as Canberra local’s Kirkkland, Citizen Kay, Moaning Lisa and Sesame Girl. Beyond their artistic endeavours, ARCHIE is deeply committed to giving back to their community. They have been involved in various local initiatives, using their platform to raise awareness for important social causes and support organisations that make a positive impact. As they continue to evolve and grow as artists, ARCHIE remains steadfast in their commitment to creating music that is always honest and authentic. With a debut EP to be released in late 2023, ARCHIE is set to leave an indelible mark on the Australian music scene and beyond.
